Academy announces publication of a new prospectus

The European Academy of Optometry and Optics has announced the publication of a new prospectus.  The prospectus sets out;

  • What the European Academy is
  • Why the Academy is needed
  • What the Academy will do
  • What the Academy will offer members
  • How the Academy will be structured
  • Who can join the Academy
  • How to become a member

 Commenting on the launch of the prospectus, Wolfgang Cagnolati, President of the European Council of Optometry and Optics (ECOO) said;

"The development of the Academy is a milestone for optometry and optics within Europe.  The Academy will provide a much needed voice to help advance the profession, develop our scientific knowledge base and promote lifelong learning for optometrists and opticians across Europe."

Bob Chappell, President of the World Council of Optometry, urged his colleagues to support the Academy, adding;

"The Academy will only succeed with the support of individual professionals, academic staff and teaching institutions.  I urge you to support our mission to further the harmonisation of the professions within the European Union by joining your European Academy.
