The European Academy of Optometry and Optics

The European Academy of Optometry and Optics (The Academy) is inviting applications for election to the Board of Trustees.

The Academy is a new organisation, building on the work of the former Association of European Universities and Schools of Optometry (AEUSCO). It will provide a much needed voice to help advance the profession and develop the scientific knowledge base, and support and promote lifelong learning for optometrists across Europe.

Established by the European Council of Optometry and Optics (ECOO), the Academy will officially be launched in Lausanne, Switzerland 16-17 May 2009 with its first Research and Academic Symposium.

The officers of the Academy were appointed earlier this year by the ECOO Executive. The full Board will be announced at ECOO's General Assembly, in Lausanne, Switzerland later this year.

Applications for election are open to 17 April 2009.
