The European Academy of Optometry and Optics has announced an election to fill two vacant spaces on the Board of Trustees, and is calling for nominations from members who wish to be in the running for either post.
One of the posts is to be filled by a representative of an education organisation that is a member of the Academy, while the other will be filled by an individual practitioner. Both posts are for a three year term until 2015.
Nominees must be members of the Academy, or become members before 15 March 2012.
The Academy’s Board of Trustees ensure that the organisation continues to work towards its goal of supporting the harmonisation of standards and practise in optometry and optics across Europe.
Professor Roger Crelier, President of the Academy, said: “I look forward to receiving nominations from members who want to bring their personal knowledge and experience to the Academy’s Board.”
Nominations must be returned to the Academy by Friday 10 February 2012.
Following the closing date, ballot papers will be emailed to all Academy members. The election results will be announced at the Academy’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday 21 April 2012.
