Academy Education Committee 2011 - Calls for nominations

European Academy Education Committee

The Academy is now inviting nominations for selection of five candidates to its Education Committee. The criteria for nomination in 2011 are:

  • Candidates must be individuals with recent experience of educational delivery in optometry, optics or visual science
  • Candidates must either be nominated by an individual member of the Academy OR by a school or college which is a member of the Academy
  • Candidates and nominators (individuals and organisations) must be paid up members of the Academy as at 17 June 2011.
  • Two signatures are required on the nomination form – the candidate and the nominator.

Candidates are required to submit a nomination form, a current curriculum vitae and a personal statement of not more than 500 words explaining how they can contribute to the Academy’s Education Committee and its purpose as set out in the Committee's Terms of Reference.

All nominations must be received by the Academy Manager by Friday 17 June 2011.

The Chairman of the Committee and the Board of Trustees will review applications against the Committee’s Terms of Reference and will seek to ensure that the Committee contains an appropriate representation of skills, specialties and geographic representation. Successful members will be contacted in early July.
