Academy 2012 Dublin - Call for Abstracts

19 September 2011

The European Academy’s 2012 annual conference in Dublin will incorporate the European Educators Congress

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The Academy’s annual conference brings together key stakeholders from across Europe to discuss and share the latest research and best practice relating to optometry, optics and vision science. It attracts delegates with a diverse range of clinical, research and educational interests.

We are inviting Oral & Poster Abstracts, and proposals for sessions including clinical workshops, educational and clinical case studies, and discussion forums relating to the following areas: optometry; dispensing optics, vision science; optics and related fields; practice-based research in all settings; research, education or clinical practice relevant to optometrists, opticians, ophthalmologists, educators and those working in industries related to eye care and clinical practice. In previous years dispensing optics has been under-represented in the abstracts received by the Academy, so we would particularly welcome papers relevant to this area of interest for our members.

We are interested in receiving abstracts relating to Education, Research, General Eye Care Health Issues in Europe, and Continued Professional Development streams. Discussion will focus on a range of issues relating to current concerns for the Academy’s stakeholders.

Who should attend? The Academy’s conference is of interest to professionals from all fields relating to optometry, optics, vision science and other related areas of work. The Academy provides a unique forum for networking and discussion in an environment which facilitates collaborations and partnerships between educators, researchers, clinicians and leaders of professional associations across Europe.

Certificates of Attendance will be awarded to all delegates and may be used as evidence in local continuing professional development schemes (CPD/CET).

Prizes will be available for Oral presentations and Poster presentations, sponsored by the College of Optometrists in the UK.
