Membership or Fellowship of the Academy is the way that other practitioners,
patients, the public and other organisations, can recognise your professional status and commitment to the continuous development of optometry in Europe. Members receive use of a special member logo and Academy Fellows will be awarded designatory letters FEAO to recognise their achievements.
Access to the Academy network -
Academy members benefit from the opportunity to collaborate with key bodies and individual members across Europe. Membership of the Academy provides access to a European network of optometrists and opticians, researchers and educationalists dedicated to developing the science and practice of optometry and optics.
Specialist interest group forums -
Academy members have the opportunity to build both geographical and specialist interest links with other Academy members.

Annual Academy Conference -
the European Academy’s annual conference enables key stakeholders - students, practitioners, teachers, researchers, from around the world to come together to discuss and disseminate the latest research happening in Europe.
Access to Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics -
the peer reviewed journal of the College of Optometrists, London. OPO is one of the most highly specialised optometric journals in the world and enjoys an international reputation with an impact factor of 1.097. The journal is indexed in Medline and the ISI Web of Science. OPO is published every two months and is accessible online for members.
Newsletters -
the Academy publishes its own newsletters to keep members up to date with key developments, research and news from the Academy.
European Academy’s website -
www.eaoo.info keeps members up-to-date with key developments and the latest news from the Academy. The website play sa valuable role in helping members share knowledge.
Access to the College of Optometrists’ Library -
the College library houses one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of modern and historical optical works in existence. European Academy members have access to the library for reference services. The librarian can help with research requests and can supply members with journal articles at members rates.
