What is the European Academy?
The European Academy was launched May 2009 in Lausanne, Switzerland at the Spring Meeting of the European Council of Optometry and Optics (ECOO).
It is a membership organisation who's international membership comes from the fields of optics, optometry, vision science, research, education and the corporate world.
The Academy's strategic aims are:

To develop scientific knowledge of optometry and optics

To advance and promote education into optometry and optics and related subjects

To advance and promote research into optometry and optics and related subjects

To promote for the public benefit the science and practice of optometry and optics

To promote for the public benefit the professional competence and conduct of Academy members.
The College of Optometrists provides the secretariat for EAOO
